Colombia

Hello classmates! Today I want to share with you the country that I would love to go.

First of all, I love to travel. It is one of the important things in life that I love to do. I think that travels make us grow a lot, changing our world vision and getting to know different people, their cultures and their places.

When I think about travelling somewhere I mostly think about South American countries. That is because I would like to get to know our neighbor countries first, and their cultures, and after knowing it, I would like to go to other places like Europe.

I would really like to go to Colombia, because I have heard nice comments about it and I have always had this idea about Colombia as a very beautiful country. It is recognized by his cultural diversity and for being one of the countries with the richest biodiversity of the entire world, and that is really interesting for me. Also, Colombia is the only nation of South America that has coasts in the ocean Pacific Ocean and in the Caribbean Sea.

I really hope to get the chance to go there someday. If I go, I would like to do many things there, but one of the most important: I would like to go to the Amazonian zone of Colombia and it national parks. I have friends that went there and they said that it was so beautiful and interesting. I think that it’s a place where I have to go, because it is absolutely new for me, different from my reality, and I could learn a lot from it. It seems to be a wonderful experience. I prefer that kind of places that are not too touristic. I like to travel on my own way; I don’t like doing travelling tours or things like that.

I don’t think I would like to live or study there, mainly because I am doing fine here and I would not like to be far away from my family and friends. I would love to go to Colombia, but just for travelling.

One day I will go to Colombia and I will tell you about it!

Love

Hello classmates! Today I am going to speak of something that the people, in general, are not accustomed to speak about: love. The people I know are not around asking others what they think of love, may be because it seems to be a term too abstract, may be because it's too private, or may be because they don't feel comfortable talking about it with everybody. There could be a lot of different reasons, but...what is my opinion about love?

In my opinion, love involves many different emotions. In general, the people have this close vision about love associating it with a couple, but I think that love is a lot more than that. The love can manifest itself in different ways. I mean, I absolutely can love my couple, but I can love my parents and my friends too.

There’s not an only definition of love, because we live so many moments in life, and we can feel a lot of different emotions with people in different circumstances. I think that we don’t have to try to understand love; we only have to feel it and enjoy it when we are feeling it, because it’s one of the most beautiful feelings that life has.

Everything we need is love, and it’s everywhere. It’s that kind of things that come when we are not looking for it.

My expectations for my last Semester

I will speak of the expectations for my last semester in the University at student of anthropology with mention in archaeology.

This semester is very important to me because is the last semester of my career and of my life in the University like a student undergraduate and I really expect this semester will be good for me.

I really hope to do everything good, my class, test, works, presentations etc to graduate.

For this semester I look forward to win the “interfacultades” cup of girls’ soccer, the match is next Saturday in Juan Gomez Millas stadium, we are going to play versus Veterinaria team, I love to play football and is very important for me to win the match.

Finally I am waiting the heat this summer in class rooms not kill me.

VIOLETA PARRA

I am going to speak about “Decimas ”, my favorite book. This book was written by Violeta Parra and is a autobiography in verse.

Violeta Parra is a very famous singer, painter, embroidery, ceramist and investigator of folcklore in Chile.

The book tell a story of her life narrated in poetry.

She is son of peasant and musician teacher, sister of poet and singers. His life was very sacrificed because she was very poor. She was born in San Carlos (Ñuble), in a center zone of Chile. When she had 12 years old write his first verses. In the beginning she worked in cirques and bars. Then in 1953 she begin to be more famous. In Radio Chilena she present her first compositions , songs to “ the human and to the divine”. Then she begins recitals for all Chile and participated in the Festival for the youth in Polonia and it records his first disc.

She exhibited her art around the world, in Buenos Aires Finlandia, Alemania, Italia, Francia etc… And in 1964 she exhibited en the Louvre museum.

This book is very interesting because speak about a greatest artist of Chile, and is very important to value the artist of our country.

My Favorite picture

This picture show a classmate Francisco in the desert of Atacama at sunset, is a very beautiful view and this is my favorite photography among many others.

This photography was taken in september of 2009 during archaeological campaign in the north of Chile.

Now this picture remember me a beautiful of the sunset, we can see all the colors of sun, I also like it because it shows the quiet attitudel of Francisco, he is thinking of something.

The desert of Chile is my favorite place, like me because is huge and many cultures of Sudamerica occupied the desert as a place to live and stablish social relationship with others cultures of the Perú, Bolivia and Argentina, relationship which included the coast of Pacific Ocean.

For archaeological research is a very interesting place because the arid of desert maintains intact the things for futures investigations.

My favorite Tech!

The notebook is my favorite article of tecnology.

I spend all the time, everywhere, always. The notebook is very important to me because I write all my activities, works, papers. In my career I need write so much.

Also, the notebook is very practical article because I can carry anywhere and I can connect to Wifi in malls, University, bar, library and so many places.

My notebook have a lot of positive characteristics, like, is small, portable, ligth, fast and wonderful to me.

I had my first notebook in the spring of 2008, was a gift of my dad in my birthday, I really liked the present of my dad because I needed it so much for the University homeworks.

Now, I have a new notebook, and is amazing because is more fast and with more capacity. However, I have a external memory for any problems with my notebook, it is very practical article.

My favorite movie is V for Vendetta

One of my favorite movies is V for Vendetta, is a series of 9 comics written by Alan Moore which became a movie in 2006. And this movie has been widely criticized as praised.

The sinopsis is: "The story is set in Britain in the near future and after a partial nuclear war, with much of the world destroyed. In this future, a fascist party in power in the UK. A mysterious anarchist revolutionary nicknamed "V ", hidden behind a Guy Fawkes mask, begins an elaborate, violent campaign to overthrow the government and inciting people to take an anarchist society."

The Director of movie is James McTeigue with Hugo Weaving (V) and Natalie Portman (Evey), and this movie is filmed in UK, in 2006.

I like this movie because is "based" on the real histories about the dictatorship in the world, with a charismatic, powerfull, cruel and tyrannical leader with hes opponents. And the most important thing about the movie is the ability of the main character to construct the opposition.

The lesson of the movie is to overcome fear and work together.

The library is an integral part of a project being developed by FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo), in partnership with BIREME (the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information) . Since 2002. This page is very important in order to obtain diferent topics about antropology, archaeology, biology etc.

The objetive of this site is "to implement an electronic virtual library, providing full access to a collection of serial titles, a collection of issues from individual serial titles, as well as to the full text of articles. The access to both serial titles and articles is available via indexes and search forms".

I visit this website very often, actually every week to obtain different information about archaeology, the news publications in the world and whatever I need.

This website is very important to me, because I download many papers of different topics about archaeology, theory, and themes that I like such as Gender Archaeology. In the university library there is no information about this theme, and in Chile there are very few studies.

I love The Beatles.... is the best band of the History.

The first time I heard was this summer and has quickly became my favorite band of all.

This band is the most important Rock and Roll band in worlwide in English-language. This band born in Liverpool, England and its members are Jonh Lennon (Vocalist), Paul Mcarney (Bass player and vocalist), George Harrison(Guitarist) And Ringo Starr (Drummer).

One of my favorite songs of the Beatles is "While my guitar gently weeps", this song is very good in terms of composition of the guitar, bass player, and the lyrics are very melancholy and strong, this song reminds me of the importance of the real things in the life, and the importance of autonomy in life of people.

Everybody considers this band as the most important in rock and roll history, I do too!!

1. Mi name is, Maria Olga Lagos, I’m student of Antropology with mention in Archaeogy, I’m in 5th grade, in University of Chile.

I love the Andean Archaeology, this topic interest me because during my carreer I must studied many diferent topics, like central chilean, South extreme, and others. But my professional goal is to dedicate me to work in this geographical area, because, the andean zone is especially atractive from many diferent ways for me.
